What Happens When You Select a Pickup Location (and What Doesn’t)

When you select your pickup location during registration or bidding, that does not guarantee your lots will be shipped to that location. It’s the first step — but not the final one.


🔑 Here's How It Works

  1. Choosing Your Pickup Location
    During the auction, you'll be asked to select either Sidney, NY or a satellite pickup location (like Ballston Spa, Allentown, etc.).
    This step is required and helps us calculate sales tax correctly based on your pickup location.

  2. That Selection Alone Doesn't Move Your Items
    Even if you select a satellite location during the auction, your items won’t be sent there unless you follow up with...

  3. Scheduling a Pickup Appointment
    The only way your lots are transferred to a satellite pickup location is by scheduling an appointment at that location.
    If no appointment is made, your items will remain at our Sidney, NY facility.

❗ Why This Matters

We've had customers assume that choosing a satellite pickup location means their items are automatically shipped there. That's not the case. Your initial selection is important for setting up your account and taxes — but only a scheduled appointment triggers the actual transfer of your items to that location.
